PROPHETIC WORDS

PROPHETIC DIRECTIVE 2019 (Part 2)

by Len Buttner

January 2019

This is Part 2 of the prophetic directives the Lord has given me for 2019. Please read Part 1 before reading Part 2. Click here for Part 1.

The North Wind: Represents cleansing, a purging of impurities; a washing.

In Jeremiah 1:13-14 “And the word of the LORD came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the NORTH.” Then the LORD said to me: “Out of the NORTH calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.” Jeremiah shows the power of the north wind.

He sees a - Pot - meaning the Babylonian army, who would besiege Jerusalem as a fire plays around the pot when it is to be made to boil. North - Indicating from whence their misery should come, namely, from Chaldea, which lay north from Jerusalem.

In Jeremiah 3:12 “Go and proclaim these words toward the NORTH, and say: ‘Return backsliding Israel,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not remain angry forever.”

Our instruction is to preach God’s Word to the north, where revival has been promised to come.

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause My anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the LORD, and I will not keep My anger forever.

The South Wind: Represents Renewal-Revival!

In Songs of Solomon 4:16 we read “Awake, O north wind, and come O SOUTH! Blow upon my garden that its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden and eat its pleasant fruits.”

Solomon’s love song; To the Groom [Jesus] is espoused to his bride [The Church] – they stand in a withered garden --- The bride [Church] senses the nearness of her coming groom [Jesus] she is ashamed of the dry, withered garden. The groom [Jesus] speaks to the north wind and then the south wind.

In Mark 4:41 “And they feared exceeding, and said one to another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey his voice!”

They feared the One who could command the wind and the waves at will, as well as drive out demons and all diseases and speak mysteries in parables. God does not want us to fear in these times of uncertainty, but to grow confident in our apprehension and comprehension of Jesus Christ.

There is so much for us to learn today to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Spirit is saying to us, “Open your eyes and heart to the majesty of Jesus in our day.”

This is a time of renewal of revival and an outpouring of God’s Spirit.

The East Wind: Represents Chastening; a correction by punishment; suffering; a disciplining.

Pharaoh had a dream of the force of the east wind. In Genesis 41:23 “Then behold, seven heads, withered, thin, and blighted by the east wind, sprang up after them.”

The East wind is peculiarly destructive, used by God to chasten because it comes through the parched deserts often destroying vast numbers of people. When the east wind advances, its approach is indicated by redness in the air.

The only means of preservation from its noxious influence is to lie flat, [humbling yourself] with the face upon the ground until the blast is over. Camels and other animals instinctively perceive its approach and bury their mouths and nostrils in the ground. It rarely lasts more than seven or eight minutes, but is so lethal, that it instantly suffocates those who are unfortunate enough to inhale it.

In Genesis 41:27 “And the seven thin and ugly cows which came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty heads blighted by the east wind are seven years of famine.”

There are lean and barren years ahead, years of famine.

As we read in Genesis 41:14-16; 30-33; 37-41. Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it.” So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” 30 “But after them, seven years of famine will arise, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine will deplete the land. So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe. And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God and God will shortly bring it to pass. Now therefore, let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt.” 37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

In these times God will give His wisdom to the church and we will see a great harvest and blessing for God’s people. A salvation of a nation from years of famine and lean years.

I see other nations and New Zealand entering into a time of financial barrenness!

The prophets are also warned - Jonah was chastised by the east wind for prejudice, unforgiveness, and disobedience.

In Jonah 4:8 “And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said, “It is better for me to die than to live.””

The Lord uses the East wind: In Exodus 10:13 “So Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.”

Will we be devoured by the locusts of today?

The West Wind: Represent God’s blessings!

The West wind carried away the locusts until none are left! In Exodus 10:19 “And the LORD turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the territory of Egypt.”

This is a season where God will do unusual miracles on behalf of His people and these signs will be seen by the world as the favour of God on His people.

In Joshua 8:12-13 “and set them in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city. 13 And when they had set the people, all the army that was on the north of the city, and its rear guard on the west of the city,”

God will set ambushes against the enemy and when a believer is attacked the church will rise up in support and victory will be assured.

In Luke 12:54 We are to discern the time… “Then He [Jesus] also said to the multitudes, Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is.”

We are living in times of abundant spiritual rain and showers of blessings, but on the other hand times of great testing and increased temptation.

The enemy wants us to compromise God’s Word and ways, but today we need the sword of the Spirit in our hand and mouth as never before. Many today will be persecuted for righteousness sake.

In summary:

I’m saying that the wind of the Spirit is blowing upon us in a different way this year; we need to be more alert to the quick and frequent changes that are coming this year. Just as the wind changes direction, so will the political climate and the spiritual climate change quickly?

We are to…

  • become more sensitive and obedient to God’s leading.

  • know that the times we live in have grown exceedingly evil.

  • know that we are responsible for the spiritual breakthrough of our families and churches.

  • see cities redeemed and our nation won over for the Lord Jesus.

  • become strong in our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • seek His Face as never before and know His redeeming power.

  • know that His might is working in us.

  • know that He would grant us according to the riches of His glory.

  • know that He will strengthen us with His might through His Spirit in the inner man.
