A WARNING AGAINST DECEPTION

The Lord has been speaking hard and fast to me with urgency to warn the Body of Christ against many things in this season, but the front and centre issue happening in our nation right now is deception.

On Sunday morning 10th August 2025 the Lord woke me and I could sense the invitation to rise and seek the Lord early. However, the fleshy part of me preferred more sleep and started to succumb to slumber until I heard an audible commanding shout similar to a Maori haka sound. It jolted me awake and I knew this was urgent and the hour was serious. As I obeyed and spoke with the Lord I also enquired why He spoke to me in such a strong way. He revealed to me the He was breaking off a spirit of slumber.

There has been a spirit of slumber on His people that has dulled their senses and caused them to become sleepy. This spirit has had an assignment of deactivating the Body. It has been especially targeting the watchmen, the prophets and apostles – those who would normally call the troops to duty. Just like the best invasion strategy in war is to attack while the enemy sleeps in the dark of night, this too has been our enemy’s tactic. As many in the Body came under a spritual slumber of sleepiness, the enemy has stealthily entered our land undetected by most.

There have been false prophets and false apostles entering our land, deceiving people with fancy words, signs and wonders. I feel the urgency to sound the alarm and shout to the church of New Zealand, “WAKE UP! RISE UP OUT OF SLUMBER! STAY ALERT!”

Right now we have a window of opportunity to close the gates, awaken our people, and to operate with wisdom and discernment to clearly define what IS of God and what is NOT.

We are in an hour where we MUST be able to discern spirits correctly. Just because the words sound right does not make someone right. Just because someones moves in power it does not mean that they are anointed by God! We must realise that the enemy has a counterfeit and will do everything possible to lead the Body of Christ into deception.

Deception is subtle at first, and it has taken me a while to clearly name what initially felt ‘off’. Deception looks like the real thing but operates from a different spirit. This is why in 1 John 4:1 we are instructed, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” However, it takes a mature Christian to discern what is of God and what is not.

Heb 5:14, “But solid food is for the mature, for thiose who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”

In order for us to be able to digest the meat of God we must first be trained in discernment, otherwise anything and everything can seep in and contaminate our faith.

Watchmen and Gatekeepers, speak out! It is not the time to remain silent! We have a respoinsibility to shepherd the sheep. This means keeping them safe from wolves by warning them, and also equipping them in the gift of discerning spirits.

Through prayer, honest conversations, and accountability it will stop those with wrong motives having a foothold on our land and in our people.

The Lord also showed me that many have been deceived because no one taught them how to rightly discern the real from the false. Most have blindly accepted ANYTHING that resembled the Holy Spirit without being led by the Spirit. We must look past the words and actions into the agenda, motives and spirit behind it.

The church of NZ has been hungry for a fresh move of the Spirit. When hunger is present, everything tastes good. This is how the enemy deceives – he offers a counterfeit to hijack and sabotage the pure move.

In 2019 the Lord spoke to me a word about the Body of Christ and the season we were entering. He said, “People will either AWAKE or AWASH”. I knew that the Lord was referring to a separation that would occur in the Body of Christ in New Zealand. I feel that this current moment is crucial to staying on the straight and narrow path! DO NOT BE ONE WHO GETS SWEPT UP WITH CURRENT DOCTRINES AND MINISTRIES. TEST.

AWAKE! AWAKE! AWAKE!

Eph 5:14,15, “So it is said, “Wake up, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise…”

PRAYER POINTS

• Pray for discernment to increase.

• Pray for angels of awakening to be released on our land.

• Pray for unity in the Body of Christ.

• Pray that all wrong agendas and motives are exposed.

• Pray that all lying spirits causing error be silenced and disarmed.

• Pray that the Holy Spirit would lead us into all truth, and that truth trumps lies.

• Pray that all disorientation caused through the spirit of confusion would lift and clarity would come.

• Pray that our churches would be filled by the freedom that comes from the Holy Spirit and that any religious spirit be bound and removed.
