TO THE PROPHETIC COMMUNITY .… IN NZ AND ELSEWHERE

This prophetic word was given at the Prophetic Round Table gathering in Christchurch, March 2025.

Introduction

This word came in early March after of a long period of ‘walking out’ the ground it covers. As prophets and church leaders, I believe we carry a sacred mandate to live such words, before we dare give them – at least with any authority, or expectation of being taken seriously. This has been my journey.

True and False prophets will be differentiated

I heard God say that 2025 will be a year when both false prophets and true prophets will be revealed through the fruit they produce. He is separating them out for those with eyes to see and ears to hear. He will make obvious those who are genuinely bringing revelations in His Name, and those who are not.

Words from false prophets will increase in both volume and quantity. Their words will be characterised by lack of true authority, and poverty of content. Thus He will make it obvious that they have not stood in His counsel and have not heard His voice.

“Test the spirits to see which are from Me” (1 John 4:1).

“But if they had stood in My council, then they would have proclaimed My words to My people, and they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their deeds” (Jer 23:22).

Meet God in the ‘secret place’

Those who truly speak in God’s Name will start to speak less for a season, as He calls the true prophetic voices (both within this nation and from elsewhere across the world), to listen more intently, before He authorises us to speak.

Our instruction (and invitation) is to return to the ‘secret place’, to the place of intimate conversation with Him, where He and we ‘reason together’, and where He shares revelation with us well before it is ready to be shared publicly.

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you” (Matt. 6:6).

I felt Him say that He wants His prophets…

• to prioritise relationship before achievement.

• to seek intimacy with Him before rushing to the ‘activity’ of intercession and spiritual warfare.

• to embrace His Kingdom in our lives more radically than ever before,

…so that the choices we make, and even the new ways we will ‘hear’ and ‘experience’ His message in the future, will be empowered by intensified clarity and authority.

He challenges us at heart level: “My Kingdom must be established more fully in you before I release the new wave of prophetic revelation I wish to bring. It will come when I am ready. Are you willing to lay your past gifts on the altar, so I may refine you further as My disciples, allowing Me to transform you into those who will impact your nation and the world far more effectively, in the seasons that lie ahead?”

Lay down past seasons’ calls – prepare for the new

His insistent call is for us to trust Him, releasing the calls of past seasons, preparing to embrace new depths and new authority that will manifest as the obvious fruit of our willing surrender, obedience, and trust-filled abiding in Him.

“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matt. 16:24-25).

We will be surprised by the spokespeople of the next season; they will not all be those whom we expect. (Each person’s acceptance, or not, of His insistent wish to refine us will determine this.)

Then I heard: “Some who have previously been trusted have been beguiled into using My gifts for purposes I have not sanctioned – building institutions, programmes and ministries of your own choosing – rather than submitting your call and gifts to My refining fire. You have enjoyed receiving the praise of men, seeking ‘a following’ in preference to faithfulness. You have revelled in popular attention instead of My favour, delighted in public acclaim rather than choosing intimacy with Me.”

He instructs that we are to put aside all syncretism with the world, and embrace only His life within us. In doing so, He also reassures us that a far deeper satisfaction will come from this.

Pure hearts, pure motives – a return to the New Covenant

He is not saying this to shame us; rather, with arms wide open in invitation and promise, He calls us back to the New Covenant on His terms alone.

He says, “I am looking for those who are ready now to do whatever I ask of you: a people whom I can trust to wield the true power and authority I wish to share with those who agree to obedience and surrender, so that the world may see Me revealed in you. I’m calling true followers of My Son from all denominations, movements and nations, to embrace authentic transparency, faithfulness, and holiness; to lift high My Son – and only Him.”

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself” (John 12:32).

Transparency, faithfulness, holiness, obedience

He then confirmed that His directive to meet in the ‘secret place’ is for all who will accept it. He is prompting a clear choice: “Will you willingly choose a backseat until I am finished, so I may deal with unsurrendered yearnings in you that continue to cling tenaciously to outward expressions of godliness whilst denying true power?”

“This sifting is no act of punishment, but rather of exposing and revealing motives, just as it was for Peter. Satan believes He can bring harm to My true prophets and leaders, and to My own reputation, through his request, but is overplaying his hand, as he has done many times before. The sifting I am allowing will result in the undeniable exposure of ‘the sham’, and the powerful revealing of ‘the wholeheartedly surrendered’. A profound turning to Jesus, across the nations, will take place as a result.”

Call to Action:

The Lord finished with a final challenge: “Will you devote yourselves to the ‘secret place’ until this season is done, humbling yourselves under My mighty hand so that in due course I may lift you up as trustworthy prophetic voices – not for your own glory, but for the sake of My Name alone?”

I acknowledge that this is not a word ‘to tickle ears’. If accepted as a true prophetic word, there is clearly a decision we must all make. The response God is asking for is clear within the word itself. As for me, I dare not delay.
