PROPHETIC WORDS

PURITY ON OUR MINISTRY PLATFORMS

by Jacinda Goodsir

February 2022

On February 20th, prior to waking, I was given a very vivid dream in which the Lord spoke to me about three things concerning our ministry platforms.

In the dream a group of mostly youth were rehearsing and soundchecking for an item which would be part of our conference.  As the group came off the stage I was struck by their apathy.  They were going through the motions, but there was no reverence for the Lord or the ministry that was being entrusted to them.  I noticed that several of them were even chewing gum, something which I immediately sought to rectify by asking them to get rid of the gum before returning to the stage.  Their attitude to this request was to resist and play the fool, to the point where I demanded that they get rid of their gum by spitting it into my hand, which they did. The last person to come off stage was closer to my age, a whole generation older than these youth.  She also was chewing gum.  When I asked her to get rid of her gum she blatantly looked at me with stubborn eyes and said,  “No.” I then proceeded to not budge and tell her she could have as much gum as she wanted after she had been onstage, but that I wanted her to get rid of her gum. I spoke to her about how she was a role model, and if those younger ones saw her acting in defiance then it would affect their attitude also. She reluctantly walked ahead and spat her gum out and I thanked her as she walked away. I then looked to the stage they had come from and noticed that it was littered with rubbish (left by many previous platform users, not just the worship team).  I knew that I MUST clean the stage of the empty wrappers, cans and clutter that had been allowed to remain on the stage. The conference had started with a solo singer on the floor, and I knew that I must have been a distraction, but there was nothing more important in that moment than a clean stage. I felt my husband come up on stage behind me, and I anticipated being told that this cleaning could wait, but on turning to him and explaining that I needed to clean this stage, he simply agreed, and I woke. On waking, I knew this dream was addressing all platform ministry,

The first thing this dream reveals is the lack of reverence that has infiltrated our ministry teams. We have lost our reverence and awe for being vessels that He moves through to minister. Our platforms are not places where we entertain, meet our own needs to be seen, or be upskilled. Our platforms are places where we act humbly as priests unto the Lord. It is for Him that we worship. Reverence of the Lord leads to Fear of the Lord. Fear of the Lord keeps us from evil. We must once again see Him as majestic, as awesome, as mighty, as powerful. It is time for the fear of the Lord to be returned to the church. When we revere who God is, we humble ourselves.  Our whole posture changes. Our hearts yearn for Him like children looking at our King.

The second revelation from this dream was that rebellious and stubborn, unsubmissive hearts were being revealed. There is no place on our platforms for pride – the exalting of self.

1 Sam 15:23 says, “Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as inequity and idolatry.”

Hearts like this will block the flow of the Holy Spirit. This is the time to die to self so that Jesus can shine through us. When we feel resistance and offense when asked by a leader to do something, it is an opportunity for the state of our heart to be revealed where the Lord can heal us of our heart wounds.

Lastly, it is time for the cleaning up of our ministry platforms. It’s time to purify our platforms that they might again become places of great presence! There has been a defilement of the ministry platform. This comes in the form of wrong motives, unclean lives permitted to minister, sin being tolerated in the lives of those permitted to act as priests in our services and conferences. The platform of ministry is never for the benefit of those who stand on it! It is to minister to the Lord God Almighty. When we get this right, we can then take the people in our congregations to a deeper level of encounter with the Holy Spirit.

Psa 24:3-4 says, “Who can ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who can stand in His Holy place? He that has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.”

Purity is needed to bring proximity to His presence. We can only take people as high as we ourselves have gone. The Lord is calling us to purge our platforms of anything that takes the place of Him. This word is specifically for those of us who lead churches and ministries. We are the ones entrusted with this. It is time to invite the Holy Spirit to firstly examine our own hearts and to reveal any areas that He wants to deal with. He loves us too much to allow us to stay as we are, and His appointed move for this season requires a greater degree of consecration.

Judgement comes first on the house of God. How can we expect to see godliness in our nations if we have not first dealt with the consecration of our altars?

Those who honour the Lord in this area will open up the doors for the Holy Spirit to flood their churches. Repentance will result, hearts will be filled with the love of the Father, and lives will be sold out for Him.

1 Pet 1:16, “For I AM your God, consecrate yourselves, therefore be holy because I AM holy.”

PRAYER POINTS

Prayer is not just us coming to God with a list of requests. As part of our relationship with Him, it is us having a conversation with the Lord, which involves talking and listening on both sides. The following prayer points are some things you can talk to Him about in regards to this prophetic word.

  • Ask Holy Spirit to examine our own heart to see if there is any area that He wants to bring healing and freedom to.

  • Pray for leaders and ministers to have a fresh encounter with the Lord that awakens fresh reverence for Him.

  • Pray that Holy Spirit would do the purifying within us.
