PROPHETIC WORDS
LOOK BEYOND WHAT YOU FEEL

Over the last few months, I have sensed the Lord giving me a deeper understanding of intimidation and the hold it can have over us, and I believe the Lord wants to encourage you with the following word.
Not every experience of spiritual intimidation means that there is necessarily a demonic presence. Sometimes spiritual intimidation can come from our own fears, heightened sensitivity, difficult circumstances, or simply encountering something we don't understand. Scripture gives us permission to test and discern, rather than automatically interpret an experience as being spiritual warfare (1 John 4:1; 1 Thess 5:21).
Here is what I believe the Lord is saying :
“Do not be intimidated by what you perceive in the spiritual realm. Learn to discern whether something is actually a spiritual attack, or whether the feeling of intimidation is based on your own fears, difficult circumstances, or simply because you’re facing something you don’t understand.
There have been times when you’ve sensed something in the atmosphere, felt resistance, or encountered something that felt bigger than you, and it caused you to draw back, to retreat internally.
You discerned resistance coming against you, but I haven’t given you the ability to discern so that you’ll become afraid of what you discern; I’ve given you that ability so you can recognise the resistance against you and overcome it.
Intimidation wants you to respond out of fear, not from wisdom. It wants you to respond using your own limited resources, not Mine; to panic rather than operate from peace and rest, knowing that I have your back.
Intimidation wants you to question yourself – “Am I strong enough?” “Do I have what it takes?” – like the spies that entered the promised land and, after seeing the giants, saw themselves as grasshoppers, insignificant and unable to beat what they saw. Yet amongst them stood Caleb and Joshua, who saw with different eyes, whose trust was in Me, not in their own strength.
Today I am reminding you: your confidence doesn’t come from your own spiritual strength. And just because something feels powerful, that doesn’t mean it has any authority over you.
Your confidence comes from knowing Me, from knowing what I am capable of; that I am for you, I have promised to fight with you and fight on your behalf. Remember: Jesus defeated the powers of darkness on the cross, and all they have left is intimidation, bluff and lies.
Sometimes your greatest act of authority will simply be to remain at peace and continue obeying Me.
While your eyes have been drawn toward what is opposing you, I ask you to turn your eyes back to Me. Remember what Elisha said: “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
I am with you, the Holy Spirit is with you, the angelic hosts are with you, and we all fight on your behalf. So don’t let intimidation cause you to shrink back, and don’t surrender your peace.
Stand strong in Me and walk in the authority I have given you. Keep your eyes on Me and let My peace become stronger in you than the intimidation you feel around you.”
