PROPHETIC WORDS

LET GOD ARISE

by Alistair Simmons

This prophetic word was given at the NZ Council of Prophets gathering and Behold Conference in Christchurch, March 2025.

Apostles and prophets it is time to be aware that deliverance is going to go to a whole new level in your ministries, so prepare yourself and train. Get training to receive this. Yes, the Holy Spirit will train and equip, but I sense that the Lord will actually want you to understand some key basics that need to be in place that have up to now really been relegated to the deliverance circle, but apostles and prophets need to realise that this is part of who you are. It’s part of your DNA to be casting out demons, to be destroying the works of the devil.

I feel the Lord said to me today, “There’s now going to be an increase over the apostles and the prophets of this nation, and greater authority over the works of the devil. There will be supernatural happenings, experiences, breakthroughs and healings, and the supernatural and divine outpouring that you have all been praying for is now going to start taking place, but it’s going to come at a cost.”

And I feel like the Lord said to me, “The cost is going to be your reproof.” And it was in Hab 2:1-2 which really outlines how we hear from the Lord, but there is this section in it where the prophet says, “I’ll keep watch to see what He says and what answer I will give as the spokesman, when I am reproved.” That word reproved is the word ‘corrected’, ‘strongly chastened.’

I want to tell you that over this last 12 months I’ve been in a time of the most challenging chastening of my life in the faith. I’ve been told off by the Lord, I’ve been corrected. Things I’ve done for many years that I thought were fine, the Lord has totally shifted. He has corrected me. It has been a challenging time. But I want to say this – every time I have humbled myself and said, “OK Lord. You do what You have to do here. I just humble myself to You”, the anointing has only increased.

And I feel that for apostles and prophets there’s going to be a lot of reproof. There’s going to be some chastening and there’s going to be some character adjustment that’s going to go on. It is not done to demise you, it is done to empower you. The Lord says, “In this time and this season My apostolic anointing and My prophetic outpouring is going to be so great that I need people of good character and good stead to be able to carry this, or otherwise they will not. And it will fall apart. Or there’ll be even more controversy that will be created in the church because of gifted people making horrible character mistakes.” So this is a time for you to invite the Lord in for correction and direction. As prophets and apostles, He wants to move you into this place.

One of the corrections He gave me, that I’m going to pass on, was this. Psalm 68 says, “Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.” The Lord said to me, “My apostles and prophets have been enamoured at My arising. They know I’m coming. They can sense it, and feel it, and prophesy into this.” Then He said that there has been a huge mistake, a mistake that, I’m going to be honest, I’ve been guilty of as well. Because I have also felt this, sensed and seen this.

He said, “Go back and read the verse again.” So I went back and read Psalm 68 again, and He took me to the first opening line that says, “Let God arise. Let God arise.” In other words, the enemies aren’t scattered until God has arisen. And there is a ‘letting God arise’ that must take place. And He said to me, “Alistair, you’ve been spending your time training and equipping people how to move in My Spirit, but you’ve not been teaching people how to ‘Let God arise’.”

Allow the deep internal work

The Lord is doing an incredible work in apostles and prophets to prepare us to be able to carry the authority and the power, but it’s going to come in correction and direction, and as we trust Him and invite Him. This is a humbling time, but it’s meant to empower us, not to hold us down or give us some sort of trauma.

I want to tell you there’s a management adage that says, “People fear change” but it’s actually a lie. And I believe it’s a lie in the church. People don’t fear change, they fear change that doesn’t benefit them. And if you, in hearing this word, feel a bit worried or a bit concerned and think, “I don’t want to go through any correction of the Lord or any chastening, then you need to repent of that, because it has great benefit attached. You must invite it and ask God to show you the benefit of the training that He wants to take you through, because when you understand the benefit, then you embrace the journey.

And I feel it’s going to be a quick work. And I feel there’s going to be an empowerment that comes on the other side of it, and it’s going to be different for every one of us. For some of us, like me (I’m a bit stubborn…God needs to work a bit harder on me). But for some, you are so supple, so full of intercessory opening that the adjustments will be quite minor, but the increase of the anointing is coming. He is coming. So will you let God arise over you? As you do this, you’re going to then teach the church how to let God arise over them, because it’s for the sake of the saints that the five-fold ministry exists.

There’s so much more I can say, but I feel like the Lord is really saying, if this word encourages you in any way, It’s not just time to train and equip people on the gifts (that will always remain part of the ministry call) but there’s going to be a greater outpouring of His Spirit where you’re going to learn to carry such an incredible outpouring of His Spirit that it’s going to leave such a mark on the church that people are going to be utterly changed.

I just want to encourage you all as apostles and prophets. Open yourselves up to the Lord. Say to Him, “Come to me.” Just like Habakkuk did. What shall I say when I am reproved? Allow the correction to take place, because in the correction will be the rising of the new anointing, and it’s the anointing that breaks the yoke.
