PROPHETIC WORDS
AFTER THE FIRE COMES HOLY AWE
by Lynley Allan
February 2026.
This prophetic word was given at the NZ Council of Prophets gathering and Behold Conference in Christchurch, March 2026.
Deut 4:24, “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.”
Heb 12:29, “For our God is a consuming fire.”
God is moving across the Church to cause our eyes to be enamoured and amazed with Him, not false idols. For our God is a jealous God, and the love that fuels His jealousy is there to protect His Church.
He is turning all eyes back to Him as the holy and awesome God. He is drawing the eyes of the Body, the Bride, to be transfixed again upon Him and Him alone.
The Church has learned to marvel at gifting and to gather around spectacle, but the Lord is breaking our fixation with watching highly gifted people and returning our wonder to Him. He is not diminishing the gifts; He is turning the eyes of the Bride back to the Bridegroom. He is refocusing our affections and adoration back upon Him: the altogether lovely One, the awe-inspiring Jesus.
It’s like in the time of John in Revelation 1, when the Lord opened his eyes in the Spirit and he saw Jesus: His hair white as wool, His robe radiant, the golden sash across His chest, and His eyes like fire. This is a time of Jesus revealing Himself again as Lord of Lords and King of Kings, restoring the awe of the Lord.
The eyes of the Bride will be so scorched by the vision of Jesus that any falseness will be easy to discern, and we will recognise the true ministry of Jesus from the counterfeit.
There is a fire right now on apostles and prophets and it is also coming to pastors and to every place where leadership has, even subtly, diverted the eyes of the Bride to themselves instead of pointing to Jesus. Not to shame, but to purify, to realign, and to restore the gaze of the Bride to Christ alone.
The Lord says, “I am not tolerating split focus or split devotion. I am calling My Bride to a place where they only have eyes for Me.”
After the fire comes holy awe and that holy awe will sweep the Church, and a harvest of souls will follow.
Fire, Oil, and Capacity
And the Spirit says, “Go to the oil. Go to the oil of your life. Expand your capacity to contain more oil.” More oil is being poured out in the Spirit, but if your vessel hasn’t expanded in this hour, you will have little to pour out to the world.
How do we get more oil? It’s abiding in Him and prayer (John 15). It’s brokenness before the Lord. It’s the cry, “God, have mercy on me.” The Bride is called to have lots of oil in their lamps, and now is the time to surrender to being stretched to contain more oil.
So when the holy fire comes, it doesn’t consume you: instead, it sets you on fire and makes you a light in the darkness. The same fire that consumes dross ignites oil. If there is dross in your life, the refining fire must do its work first so that the fire of zeal and power can then rest on you.
There is a call to the secret place, to your own tent of meeting within your heart where you find the face of God. In the shaking and in adversity, you find His face.
I heard the Lord direct me to Isaiah 54 (which is very personal to me):
“Expand the place of your tent,” says the Lord.
That word place (māqôm) speaks of your personal capacity of heart and faith to carry the dwelling place of God. The place of our heart needs to increase before our influence (our tent) stretches out. I believe our personal capacity to carry more is about containing more oil.
How Oil Is Formed
Every time you choose rightly = more oil in your lamp.
Every time you repent and forgive = more oil in your lamp.
Every time you stand in faith = more oil in your lamp.
When you are persecuted = more oil in your lamp.
When your life is broken open and your reputation takes a hit = more oil in your lamp.
When promises delay and you don’t give in to discouragement = more oil in your lamp.
Some of you have been disappointed, but you still believe.
Some of you have been wounded, but you still believe.
Some of you have been in the crucible for a decade, and in the secret place you have let adversity mature and expand you.
The place of your tent is being prepared. You are making room for God’s dwelling to increase in your life (Isaiah 54).
There are seasons where you don’t get the environment you want, the influence you want, or the ministry outcomes you want. And the Lord reminded us: your life is not your own. In those seasons of perseverance, you are expanding the place of your dwelling so you can contain more oil when increase comes.
In this season of pressure, shaking, things falling, and heroes toppling, God is testing the anchors of our hearts. He is stretching us through obedience. He is strengthening our faith. He is turning our faces to the face of our Beloved, because He is a jealous God: and He will not share our affection with idols.
Every drop of consecration, every drop of obedience, every drop of repentance is more oil in your lamp. And then the consuming fire of God comes not to destroy you, but to set you on fire and light the oil in your lamp.
Pouring Out and Multiplication
And the Lord brought me to the story in Kings. Elisha asked the widow, “What do you have in your house?”
“I only have a little oil.”
And Elisha said, “Line up the empty jars and pour.”
What you think is little, God is about to multiply into abundance. He wants you to pour out what you have been given – the oil your life has produced through trial, perseverance, and brokenness. He doesn’t want it hidden in the cupboard. He wants to bring increase.
As you pour into empty vessels around you, your family, your friends, your colleagues – there will be an ignition of the flow of the Holy Spirit through your life in miraculous ways.
But here’s the caution: when you stop pouring, the flow stops. When there are no more jars, the flow of oil stops. God is calling us to step into trusting God’s faithful nature believing He will multiply when you pour out.
To the Church in New Zealand
Stay filled, for the tipping point of outpouring is here. The saints are being prepared for harvest.
I saw a vision of a jug of being tipped. And as the oil flowed out, the Lord said,
“I am calling My Church to stay filled and be ready, for you are at a tipping point of an outpouring my Spirit. If your jug is only quarter filled, it will take more effort to flow with Me in the days ahead.”
This is why the Lord is stretching our capacity now. This is why He is calling us to abiding, to the secret place, to the filling before the pouring. He is not only calling us to pour out, He is calling us to stay filled.
Finally
So this is the call of the Lord to His Bride – "Step into the secret place of adoration and abiding in His presence.
Return your gaze to the Lord alone. Put Jesus in the highest place.
We are coming into a time of great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and we are being prepared to contain more oil and to pour that oil out to others.
Expand the place of your tent. Make room in your heart. Let Him stretch your capacity. Let Him fill your vessel.
And the Lord says, “Tip your jar. Pour into the empty vessels around you and watch what I will do.“The one who prophesies edifies the church” (1 Cor 14:4).
