PROPHETIC WORDS
A PROPHETIC EDICT OVER THE CHURCH OF NEW ZEALAND (Part 1)
by Jacob Biswell
March 2025
This is part 1 of the prophetic word given by Jacob Biswell at the NZ Council of Prophets gathering and Behold Conference in Christchurch, March 2025.
Introduction: The Weight of an Edict
An edict is a formal decree issued by a governing authority, carrying the weight of law and demanding recognition. In Scripture, edicts were often given by kings, setting forth unchangeable decrees that shaped the destiny of nations (Esther 8:8, Daniel 6:8). This word has been chosen intentionally for what follows—a prophetic edict from heaven—because it is not merely an encouragement, nor a passing word of inspiration, but a divine proclamation. It is a declaration of what God is establishing, uprooting, and igniting within the church of New Zealand. This is not an invitation for passive reflection but a summons for decisive action. Just as a king’s edict requires obedience, so too must the church in New Zealand heed what the Spirit is saying in this hour.
The Lord speaks concerning Aotearoa, the land set apart by My hand, a nation with deep wells yet to be uncovered. I am moving among My people in this hour, tearing down what is failing and raising up what will endure. No longer will the church in this land be known for its passivity or its silence, for I am awakening My people to their original design. The winds of My Spirit are shifting, and I am sending a holy disturbance.
The Exposure of Hollow Foundations
I am exposing the scaffolding that has been mistaken for structure. Many have built their ministries on human ingenuity rather than the power of My Spirit. You have borrowed from foreign models, but they cannot sustain what I am about to release. The systems that have enabled control, spiritual hierarchy, and consumer Christianity will not stand in the days ahead.
I will pull down the podiums that have become platforms of self-advancement. Those who have used My name to build empires rather than the Kingdom will find their influence reduced to rubble. But to the ones who have remained hidden, tending the altars without an audience, I am breathing fresh life upon you.
"Every plant that My heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots" (Matt 15:13).
"The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished" (Prov 16:5).
A Purging of the Prophetic
There has been mixture in the prophetic stream—those who have spoken from their own imagination rather than My Spirit, those who have prophesied what is profitable rather than what is true. Many have sought the approval of men, crafting messages that satisfy itching ears rather than delivering the burden of the Lord. Some have operated under the pressure of political and cultural tides, altering their words to fit the agenda of the day rather than speaking the unfiltered counsel of God. But the days of flattery and compromise in the prophetic are coming to an end.
A company is emerging—one that cannot be bought, one that cannot be manipulated by influence or silenced by pressure. These will be voices of divine confrontation, calling My people back to truth. They will not align themselves with the powers of the age, nor will they prostitute their gift for personal gain. They will stand between judgment and mercy, between the severity and kindness of God (Rom 11:22), declaring both warning and hope with unwavering conviction.
The Lord says: I am no longer waiting for My church to recognize these voices. I am calling them forth Myself. Many of them will not be found within existing structures—they have been prepared in obscurity. They will not be approved by the religious elite, yet they will carry My authority.
New Zealand, do not reject the voices I am sending simply because they do not come through familiar channels. Many of My prophets will rise outside of the established order, just as John the Baptist cried out from the wilderness rather than from the temple courts. Those who have been faithful in the secret place will now be released to the front lines.
"Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7).
Prepare, for the voice of the Lord is about to thunder in this land. The testing of the prophetic has come, and only that which is from Me will endure.
"I have not sent these prophets, yet they run with their message; I have not spoken to them, yet they have prophesied." (Jer 23:21)
"You must speak My words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious" (Ezek 2:7).
Out with the Old and In with the Older
The time of novelty, gimmicks, and self-proclaimed movements is over.
I am calling My prophets back—not to something new, but to something ancient. The prophets I am raising up in this hour will not chase trends, nor will they be swayed by the winds of cultural Christianity. Instead, they will return to the ancient paths, to the foundation that was laid by My apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus as the chief cornerstone (Eph 2:20).
The old ways of shallow spirituality, borrowed revelation, and watered-down doctrine are crumbling. I am uprooting the weak structures built on emotionalism and charisma, where My people have mistaken hype for holiness and sensation for sanctification. My prophets will no longer entertain the crowds—they will lead them to repentance. They will not preach self-empowerment—they will preach Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor 2:2).
The prophets I am sending will not function in the patterns that have been fashioned by men in recent decades—patterns that have prioritized performance over presence and influence over integrity. I am restoring a Biblical prophetic ministry, one that will reflect the voices of the past:
Like Moses, they will stand before leaders and refuse to compromise My commands (Ex 5:1).
Like Samuel, they will not let a single word fall to the ground (1 Sam 3:19).
Like Elijah, they will call down fire on the altars of mixture (1 Kings 18:38-39).
Like Jeremiah, they will weep for the sins of the people and warn of coming judgment (Jer 9:1).
Like John the Baptist, they will prepare the way for the Lord by preaching repentance (Luke 3:3-6).
These will be prophets of substance, not spectacle. Their words will carry weight because their lives will be rooted in the doctrines of the early church, the fear of the Lord, and a lifestyle of consecration. They will not dilute their message to gain an audience, nor will they build their own names through false wonders.
The Restoration of Theological Soundness
I am calling My prophets back to the sacred doctrines of the faith—to uphold sound teaching, to defend truth against deception, and to ground My people in the unshakable foundation of My Word. No longer will prophecy be used to manipulate, to stir emotions without transformation, or to give people what they want to hear. True prophecy will be rooted in Scripture, carrying the authority of heaven.
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths." (2Tim 4:3-4)
I am tearing down the celebrity culture that has turned My prophets into brands. The prophets of old did not seek followers, they sought My presence. They did not build ministries, they built altars. This is the generation I am calling forth—those who will forsake popularity for purity, who will sacrifice their platforms to gain My presence.
A Remnant That Will Restore the Church
This is the hour of reformation within the prophetic movement. The days of chasing after “new revelation” that contradicts My Word are coming to an end. I am raising up a remnant of prophets who will not abandon the creeds of the early church, the teachings of the apostles, and the power of true discipleship. These will restore reverence for My Word, for My holiness, and for My ways.
"Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." (Jer 6:16)
New Zealand, the prophetic movement in your land will not be built on the fleeting trends of modern Christianity, but on the enduring truths of historical faith. Those who desire entertainment will leave, but those who hunger for holiness will remain. Those who seek a word for their own pleasure will be disappointed, but those who seek My truth will be fed. Out with the old ways of shallow sensationalism, and in with the older, eternal ways of My Kingdom. The prophets are returning to the foundations.
